Tungsten carbide is prized among contemporary jewelry metals for its exceptional hardness and rugged good looks. But not all tungsten is created equal. Many tungsten rings on the market are cut with lower-grade fillers to save on cost, diluting the genuine tungsten carbide that makes these rings desirable in the first place. Every Rugged Tungsten™ ring is formulated to a minimum of 85% tungsten, a higher standard than much of the tungsten jewelry sold today, for a ring you can trust to be the real thing.

Not All Tungsten Is Created Equal
When you’re comparing tungsten rings, the tungsten percentage matters.
Formulations with lower tungsten content are cut with more filler material, so you may not be getting the genuine, high-grade tungsten carbide you expect. Rugged Tungsten™ rings are never less than 85% tungsten, so you know you’re getting the real thing.

Things to Know About Tungsten Carbide
• Begins as a bright, light-grey metal and, like any tungsten ring, gradually darkens to a deeper grey over time as it oxidizes
• Extremely hard and scratch-resistant
• More brittle than some other contemporary metals such as Serinium® and Black Diamond Ceramic™, so it can chip or crack if dropped on a hard surface
• In an emergency, must be removed with a ring cracker or vice grip pliers rather than cut, and should be removed carefully by a professional
